What does Volcom logo stand for? This is the question that I found all over the internet. Do you know what does it mean actually?

 

The idea of Volcom emblem or aka the “Stone Logo” is actually derived from the support of freedom and youth audience. In a simple sentence to understand, the “stone logo” symbolize their support on youth freedom and creativity.

 

The company motto, “Youth against Establishment” is clear vision of their product and lifestyle. Volcom also actively hold a campaign named “Let the Kids Ride Free” for kids to express their talent and gain contest experience.

 

Besides Volcom also provide free product for competitor and free of entry charges. A smart way to advertise their company and also helped those kids to have a good time expressing their talent.

In 1991, Richard “Wooly” Walcott and Tucker “T-Dawg” Hall founded Volcom that market the surfing, skateboarding and snowboarding products.

 

They both love extreme sports, then they come out with an idea of starting a riding company based on the extreme sports they love.

 

With $5000 from Richard’s dad, they started the own company, “First the name and then the stone, Volcom was born”(quotes from Volcom.com).

 

Their first retail outlet opened on 23 November 2002 in Los Angeles, California. Today, their retail are worldwide including, France, Indonesia, Japan, Thailand, England, Brazil, Portugal, Germany and Canada.

 

Volcom also involved in music industries and created their own label with a number of recording artists.

 

They also have an annual worldwide music tour to show their love towards music. Besides, they also hold an annual music competitions for unsigned bands to express their talent on stage.
